Original Beats!!!

My trip to Haiti really opened my eyes to some things...for months now I remember Ozmosis from Skyz Da Limit getting on me for featuring so many tracks on this site with unoriginal beats and I didn't think too much of it though I understood where he was coming from, but after my trip to Haiti, my eyes are open and I completely am in agreement with Oz.

Artists that are laying down tracks on commercial beats need to realize that they are hurting this movement more then they are helping it. We have a lot of Haitian beat makers out there looking for a slice of bread and putting in a lot of work to help this movement and when you put out tracks on unoriginal beats its like a slap in their faces and total neglect. Also basing your entire repertoire on commercial beats is an easy way out and cuts out half your work.

Please remember, our ancestors did not look for an easy way out of their movement, if we are to model this after them then we have to do as they did and knock down doors without bowing down to get into the back door.

With this said, this site will start really focusing more on original beats and tracks...am not saying we are going to completely neglect tracks that are made from unoriginal beats but we'll feature them less and try to keep them more near the bottom. Other factors that we'll keep in mind as we select songs will be the actual artists in question since some artists depend more on unoriginal beats then others. If an artist is known for using his own beats and every now and then puts out a mixtape with tracks that are not original or does a track here and there to get radio attention, then we'll consider that being that he puts in the work. But those that build their entire catalog on beats that are not original will no longer be given great consideration.

In Haiti right now most radio emissions will not play anything unoriginal and rightly so because these producers and beat makers are struggling to bring in the original and should get proper respect. Let's support the artists and artists support the beat makers because if we have a movement then we all have to be in support of each other.
